PARKING

There has been a change to the parking arrangements for the day following a pre-event inspection of the Low Moor. It is evident that it would not be suitable for the parking of vehicles due to the heavily rain softened ground.  We have therefore made the decision to close this car park.

The car park will now be at Tennants Auction Centre, Harmby Rd, Leyburn DL8 5SG.

Buses will frequently run to and from Middleham,  however please note the bus drivers unfortunately may not allow dogs onto the buses. There is very limited parking for dog owners at The Busks in Middleham DL84PP.

The new car park is hard standing, ticket scanning for wristbands and purchasing of tickets can be completed at this location as well as throughout Middleham open yards and the Racing Welfare gazebo in Middleham market square.

Please park in the designated car park as there will be no parking in Middleham or at any of the yards. There will be a shuttle bus service running from each car park to each yard location throughout the morning.

TICKETS

Pre-purchased tickets can be collected and tickets can be purchased on the day from the Racing Welfare Stand in the Marketplace, Car parks on The Busks or Low Moor and most yards. Brochures will also be available to collect from these points.

Please note there are very limited card facilities on the day and cash is recommended. The closest cash point to Middleham is Leyburn.

TOILETS

There are a number of toilets available around Middleham for the open day, 5 on Low moor including 2 accessible toilets, 2 in Middleham market place, and 1 toilet at the Busks parking area. Please note that use of hotel toilet facilities are for patrons of those establishments only.

DOGS

Well behaved dogs are welcome and should be kept on a lead and cleaned up after. Dogs may not be allowed on the shuttle buses however a lot of the yards are within walking distance and dogs are very much welcome to visit yards. Find out more about our dog policy here.

ACCESSIBILITY

The open day itself is accessible and there are several yards that are flat and wheelchair-friendly. There are some yards that the ground isn’t as level or safe however the majority of those in the town of Middleham should be safe. There is disabled parking at Middleham Key Centre (Park Lane, Middleham, DL8 4RA) which is right in the heart of the town.

We recommend visiting yards such as Charlie Johnston (Kingsley and Warwick House), Neil Mechie and Micky Hammond as they should be the most accessible and flat.
